Change

Things change when you have a babe. A lot. No more late night Mickey D's runs or staying up all hours of the night watching movies and chit chatting (unless you wanna pay for it the next day when your baby wakes up at the butt crack of dawn) You're exhausted, pooped and worn out. But, how good does it feel slipping into the sheets so tired and falling asleep as soon as your head hits the piller. Best. feeling. eva.

Things have changed ever since this little human has entered my life. Such as:

1. going to bed at 9:30 on friday nights is a beautiful thang.
2. you fully understand why you have boobs.
3. you respect your parents a whole lot more. heaven help me when my kids become teenagers. i'll be getting a serious pay back.
4. you become a morning person (sometimes)
5. you SHARE EV-ER-Y-THING.
6. you enjoy spending money on them, rather than yourself. Jon would like me to not spend money on either.
7. naps are CRUCIAL.
8. seeing your baby learn/do new things is more exciting than a new episode of The Bachelor/Bachelorette.
9. your love becomes unconditional.
10. you have this extra energy that you never thought you had. seriously, i used to be such a lazy butt and not get up off the couch after work unless it was for food, but now i have the energy to play with the little one. weird how that happens.
11. you realize how amazing the human body really is (I seriously look at her everyday and can't believe we created her and I grew her inside me. It really is miraculous. And how fast your body bounces right back how it was before {kinda} Amazing.)
12. How fast you forget the pain and aches of pregnancy and labor. I would do it all again tomorrow. (but let's wait a couple years)
13. your priorities change.
14. you tend to not wanna listen to nasty rap songs while she's in the back seat or say the occassional swear word, even though she would not have a clue anyway.
15. you always have a little buddy wherever you go. and I love it.

Speaking of little buddies...my twin sis just welcomed her first, Jase Young, into this world on September 28th and I couldn't be more excited for her and Darren. I can't wait to meet him.

Welcome to our family, Jase. We love you!

5 months

Happy 5 months to my favorite girl in the whole world!

-she smiles and giggles at strangers every where we go. People at church love her!
-she is very close from sitting up by herself.
-she has started eating rice cereal and loves it!
-she's still sleeping through the night like a good girl.
-she is very active and hates to sit.
-LOVES TV, phones and the computer. If they are in sight she cannot take her eyes off them.
-she is obsessed with the chandelier that's hanging in her bedroom. she is absolutely facinated by it and loves to run her fingers through it.
-this is such a fun stage. she is so fun to observe and watch her learn new things everday. i love how she recognizes us and how much more interactive she is.
-she has the best eyebrows and eyelashes. she gets complimented on them on a regular basis.
-she LOVES to look at herself in the mirror.
-she has the chubbiest cheeks and i could kiss them all day long (and i do.)
-she eats every 3-3 1/2 hours and chugs down 8 oz every feeding.

Good Morning!

Doll baby

And the hottest and best dad/husband in the world!

thoughts/boredom

-Modern Family is the greatest show on TV. I literally LOL, and it takes a lot for me to do that. I haven't LOLed at a show since Friends and King of Queens. Feels good.

-making bottles is the most annoying process on the planet. Your hands get wet and then you have to scoop out the formula with your wet hands which makes the formula turn into a clay-like substance, then wait for it in the microwave, while your baby is screaming her head off for you to hurry the freak up.

-pedicures might be the best invention in the world. There is nothing like getting a pedi, drinkin a DC and reading up on the latest gossip.

-i work with mostly men, and the more i am around them, the more i realize that most men CANNOT mulit-task and are not organized. Why do you think most business men hire woman secretaries?? But I will say this, I would WAY rather work with a bunch of men than women. They are easy peasy lemon squeezy.

-the iphone is the second greatest invention. what in the world did we do without the internet? Remember when we would use the encyclopedias for everything? haha gooodddd timesss.

-my hair is falling out by the handfuls and it gets greasy faster. does this usually happen after pregnancy? i feel like a golden retriever.

-i still can't believe i am a mom and i have a 5 month old. i feel like i have just been babysitting for a really long time.

-i start working part time on Oct 3rd as a personal assistant and i couldn't be more excited.

-people's facebook status' kill me. for example, "i got "fox" on the What is your animal soul quiz! what's yours?" REAALLLYYY???

-it's the freakin weekend baby imma bout to have me some fuunnnnn!!!!

And what's a post without my favorite little buddy in the world..

That smile kills me

Isn't that nightgown hilarious? I laugh everytime I put it on her.

TTFN!

As I sat and rocked Londy to sleep tonight, I couldn't help but think how truly blessed I am to have this daughter of God. What a wonderful blessing she is in my life. It's amazing that God would trust a 24 year old to take care of one of his most sacred treasures. My heart was filled with an overwhelming love for this child as I watched her drift off to sleep. No wonder the prophets have told us to get married and have children-- they bring you happiness that you have never felt before. I love what my grandma said in her talk a few sundays ago, "Of all the titles I have held in life, I found motherhood to be the nearest to Godhood, for mothers possess a Christ like love…. the ability to love someone else more than they love their selves." That is so true. There is no other love quite like the love you have for your own child. They can be disobedient, ungrateful, naughty, disrespectful, but you will still love them unconditionally. Motherhood has been the greatest challenge, but by far the most rewarding. It's amazing how one little smile from her can make all your other worries and frustrations go away in that moment. This little child has not only strengthened my testimony of families and how important they are, but she has strengthened my marriage. I have never loved Jon so much as I do when I watch them together. She makes me want to be a better person, wife, daughter, homemaker, visiting teacher, friend, and example. She has brought me such joy and true happiness. I love this song that my grandma said in her talk...it's one of my favorites, especially now that I am a mother.

MY CHILD

Do you know who you are little child of mine,
So precious and dear to me.
Do you know you’re a part of a great design,
That is vast as eternity.
Can you think for a moment how much depends,
On your holding the iron rod?
Your life is forever, worlds without end,
Do you know you’re a child of God.

Do you know where you’ve been child of mine?
It is hard to recall I know.
Do you ever remember that home divine,
With a Father who loves you so.
Do you sometimes review how He took your hand,
And He placed it within my own.
Saying, here is a child from angel land,
Not a gift but a precious loan.

Do you know where you’re going child of mine?
Are your eyes on the road ahead?
Do the spires of His castle gleam and shine,
Where the sun grows golden red?
Are you taking enough for your journey, child?
Does your lamp cast a steady glow?
Can you hold your course when the storm is wild?
You will make it, my child, I know!

I love you, Londy bear!

Sick baby

My poor little girl has been so sick this past week. She started a fever on Monday, so we gave her some tylenol and kept her cool to help keep her temperature down. By Tuesday her temperature got up to 102, she had diarrhea everyday, so we took her to the doctor. The doctor said to up the tylenol dose and to just keep her cool, but if she still has a fever by Thursday then to bring her in again for some testing. Her fever was still not down by Thursday so off to the doctor we went. They had to draw her blood in her poor little arm and do a urine test. They prescribed her with amoxicillin and we took her home. The doctor wanted us to come back again on Friday to see how she was doing and to give us the results of her blood and urine tests. We gave her the amoxicillin that night and she was already feeling so much better! We took her to the doctor on Friday and the doctor said her urine test came back positive and that she has a urinary tract infection!! Poor thing!! Then they had to draw her blood AGAIN because the dumb nurse didn't order it the first time. Worst thing ever. They stuck her in one arm and they were seriously poking around at her arm for at least 5 minutes until they realized that the stupid tube had clotted! So they had to poke her already bruised arm from the time before to get more blood! I was so furious and she was screaming bloody murder the whole time! I seriously was getting teary eyed. Then after that they had to give her another antibiotic shot in her leg! This poor girl had been through the ringer!! But, I'm so glad she is feeling much better now. She is on a different medication because of her UTI. She still isn't 100%, but is doing a lot better. I hate to see her in pain! Worst thing in the world! But I am beyond grateful that my mother in law has been here for the past week to take good care of her while I've been at work and Jon has been in school. I don't know what I would do without her! Thank you sooooo much Ellen!!!!

My poor sick baby!!

And here she is at Red Robin last night feeling a lot better! All hopped up on meds...

And here is a little video of her just jibber jabbin away...
